The poker world is going prime time! The goal of the World
Poker Tour (WPT) is to transform tournament poker into a
sport and gain mass audience appeal, just as the PGA Tour
did for golf and NASCAR did for stock car racing.
The World Poker Tour will consist of 13 of the world's most prestigious
poker tournaments (including the PartyPoker.com Million
II March 1-8, 2003) in the first nationally broadcast poker
series ever, beginning in January 2003. The WPT championship
final (to be held at Bellagio in April 2003) will be a $25,000
buy-in no limit Hold'em tournament that is destined to be
the biggest event in poker history.
